What we collect and why

When you contact us or fill in a form, we receive your first and last name, phone number, email address and address, plus what you tell us about the home you want to rent, buy or sell. We use this to answer your request, to communicate about assignments and viewings, and to carry out the assignment you give us.

When you engage us to help you rent a home, we also ask for your place and date of birth, marital status, passport number and its expiry date, profession, the address of your employer in the Netherlands, gross salary, and the size of your household, including children's ages. We also ask for documents that show your income and identity: an employer statement, your last 3 payslips, your last 3 bank statements, your employment contract, a copy of your passport and, if you are self-employed, your income tax returns for the last 3 years. We ask for the same from any guarantor. We use these details and documents to check your financial eligibility, so we can shortlist homes that suit you, and to apply for homes on your behalf. We share them only with the landlord or agent of a home you want to rent. Please cover your BSN (citizen service number) on the copy of your passport.

How long we keep it

We keep your data for as long as our agreement runs. After that, we keep it only in our financial administration, for up to seven years, as the law requires.

Who we share it with

We only share your data with third parties when this is needed for the purposes above, such as the parties that host our website and forms and that handle our financial administration, with whom we have processing agreements. We share data when the law requires it, or with your written permission. Apart from the Google Ads measurement described under Cookies and advertising, we do not provide personal data to parties outside the EU.

For a rental search, we share your application details with the landlord or agent of a home you want to rent.

Cookies and advertising

We advertise with Google Ads. With your permission, our website places Google Ads cookies to measure which ads lead to a visit or an enquiry. Without your permission, these cookies are not placed. Google may process this data outside the EU, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can change your choice at any time via "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

How we protect it

Our team is bound to confidentiality, we use strong passwords, encrypt and pseudonymise data where appropriate, make backups and test our measures regularly.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to transfer it to you or another party. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. We may ask you to verify your identity before we respond. Email us at contact@moicasa.nl.

We respond to your request within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your personal data, please let us know first so we can try to resolve it together. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) at autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl.
